I’ve been in a cute food type of mood lately, hehe.  Mainly because I’ve been excited about starting a cake decorating class!  My first session (out of four) was tonight, and it was pretty basic stuff, like how to level a cake, how to mix icing correctly, things like that.  I’m looking forward to learning more fun decorating techniques, and if I like this course I’m going to take the rest of them, I believe there’s 4 in total.  Anyway, I didn’t make these in class, but the past few days I’ve been inspired to do some cutesy decorating on my own!

Panda cupcakes!  I got the ideafrom this website!  I simplified it a little bit and skipped a few steps (skipped the sanding sugar part and made the eyes simpler) but I think they still turned out super cute!  The ears, eyes, and nose are made from chocolate chips and the mouth from chocolate sprinkles.  And the pink cupcakes were just made with vanilla icing, pink food coloring, and sprinkles :)

Ice cream cone cookies!  I saw an ice cream cone shaped cookie cutter on sale the other day and just decided to buy one and make these cute little sugar cookies!  They’re just plain sugar cookies from a store bought mix (I’m lazy ok?) and decorated with icing, food coloring, and sprinkles!  I used this recipe for the icing, which is a great icing for sugar cookies because it’s the kind that dries kinda hard and shiny like sugar cookies that you might buy at a store.  I’m thinking I might make more cookies with this shape and use them to make ice cream sandwiches during the summer!  :)
